Day 21
Faldingworth –
Market Rasen
‘Every little helps’ – other supermarket slogans are available, of course. However, very few of those are within walking distance of home!
Today, I did the Tesco run. On foot. In the wet.
It’s not all bad news though!

If every little walk helps, then essentially combining two of my previous routes and going for the ‘finest’ version of them was a decent way to see myself over the one hundred mile marker before I was out of week three! (Well, kind of – more of that in a minute.)
Today was also the day my luck ran out with the weather – I’d watched the evening forecasts the night before, the national and local morning forecasts on Breakfast telly, and in the end took the risk that the earlier showers forecast would be lighter and more sporadic.
Whoops!
At least I had the right coat on – pulled my hood up and ploughed ever onwards! My trainers got soaked through by around three miles in, my jeans were saturated; the rain wasn’t heavy particularly, but it certainly was ‘persisting it down’.
Andy passed-by in the car about half way between Linwood and Market Rasen to see if I wanted to abort the attempt – I was already properly soaked by then, so there wasn’t much point in missing a mile out! Remember – every little helps!

“So, I’m now at 103 miles walked during my challenge timeframe – although that is including all the school runs. Without those, it’s 83 miles. So, 17 to go in this last week to make it ‘doubly official’ then!”
