Day 12
Nettleham Village
Andy reckons that ‘finding somewhere sensible to park in Nettleham’ should’ve been the final round on ‘The Krypton Factor’ – one for the kids, there!
Today’s venture out on foot was quite the endurance round too, if not quite as crazy as the assault course they used to have on the TV show!

Once we’d managed to park up, it was a case of popping back out on to the main drag – The A46 was relatively quiet thankfully, but the walkway & cycle path that runs alongside is hidden from the road for a lot of the way. It would have been quite the peaceful stroll, if not for a couple of council tree surgeons and their enormous chipper!
Negotiating the roundabout at the junction of the A46 and the A158 was surprisingly simple (as anyone who’s travelled in or out of Lincoln at peak time will tell you, it’s often a right pain when you’re driving!) and around the half way point of our walk, we treated ourselves to a take-out hot chocolate from Starbucks – kept my hands warm, it’s almost glove-wearing weather!
Back up the way and then we nipped in through the bottom edge of the village, then looped round to clock in at a very reasonable 5.33 miles – the longest single walk I’ve done so far for this challenge!

“Heading further south in to Lincoln tomorrow – should mean slightly less by way of ‘traditional country living’ in the photography, but Andy has apparently plotted a route with a couple of bits still worth snapping!”
